Valentine’s Day (14 February) is all about expressing love and care. This year, we all need a bit of extra care and attention due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Health leaders in Coventry and Warwickshire are encouraging residents to reach out to those who are vulnerable this Valentine’s Day and beyond.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the new facilities, the Rainbow Unit has opened at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT)’s Brooklands Hospital in Marston Green in January 2021.

One in four people experience a mental health problem in any given year. Health and care partners in Coventry and Warwickshire are using Time to Talk Day  (Thursday 4 February) to remind residents that a small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference, especially during these challenging times.

A retired nurse, who has lived in Warwickshire for 25 years, has joined the COVID-19 vaccination programme at Stoneleigh Vaccination Centre to help vaccinate people across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The new NHS Vaccination Centre is among more than 30 opening across the country as the vaccination drive continues to accelerate.

There is now a network of 50 large scale centres, capable of jabbing thousands of people a week, across the country.

They include the Hall 1 at the NAEC Stoneleigh events centre in Warwickshire.   

Chief Executive of Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), Simon Gilby, retires today (Friday 22 January) after 37 years of NHS service.

The first patients in Bedworth and Nuneaton have received their coronavirus vaccines today. Amongst them were an 81-year couple, Vera and Mick Farn from Harts Hill. They received their vaccination at the Bedworth Vaccination Centre, Bedworth Civic Hall.

A new mental health support service for veterans and their families has been launched locally, complementing existing NHS services.
