CWPT Consultant Psychiatrist, Professor Swaran Singh, nominated for political peerage

Professor Swaran Singh

Professor Swaran Singh, Consultant Psychiatrist at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, has been nominated as a life peer and will join the House of Lords.

Professor Singh is a Professor of Social and Community Psychiatry at the University of Warwick and practicing psychiatrist with over 35 years' experience in the NHS. This honour recognises Professor Singh's pioneering career in mental health, which has seen him lead innovative service developments and research in mental health, contributing to legislation and treatment guidelines that have transformed outcomes nationally and internationally.

On behalf of CWPT, I would like to congratulate Professor Singh on becoming a life peer; an incredible honour for a remarkable career that has contributed to significant advancements in mental healthcare and treatment.

We're delighted he has been recognised, and that his expertise will be applied in a new capacity in the House of Lords. I have no doubt Professor Singh will continue to make a positive and meaningful impact for our local communities and beyond.
