If you have a medical condition but your lower limb blood and nerve supply is normal, you may not be eligible for ongoing NHS Podiatry Treatment. You may be offered an assessment appointment, a one off or short course of treatment, and then provided with advice on self-care and discharged.
If you have a foot problem (corns, callus, or toe nail cutting difficulty) but you do not have any medical conditions and your lower limb blood and nerve supply is normal, you will not be eligible for NHS Podiatry Treatment.
Ingrown toenails can be treated according to severity. The service provides nail surgery under local anaesthetic where appropriate, including follow-up aftercare. Non-surgical treatment and advice can be provided when surgery is not appropriate. Children must be 10 years or over for the minor surgical treatment option.
We do not offer treatment for:
- Verrucae
- Finger nail cutting
- Insoles/Orthotics for healthy adults and children
The majority of foot problems can be self-managed by patients, with help from family/friends/carers if needed.
