Perinatal mental health refers to mental health problems which occur during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child.
Having a baby is a big life event. It's natural to experience a range of emotions during pregnancy and after giving birth/becoming a new parent. Some of these emotions and feelings may be resolved by talking to loved ones and friends, and small changes may result in big steps.
Within Coventry and Warwickshire there are services available across many different sectors to support parents, carers, and families at different stages.
It is important that mothers, birthing persons and their families access a range of services to support and alleviate these needs.
