What we do

Our community health and wellbeing services offer a range of physical health services designed to help – and fit into – the communities around us.

We provide urgent community response, community nursing, community paediatrics, dental, neurological rehabilitation, sexual health services and much more.

Together, we aspire to keep more people in good health and living independently at home for as long as possible.

What are the benefits of working in the community?

Whether you’re just starting your career or are considering moving from an acute setting, there are lots of benefits and opportunities you can expect working within our community physical health services.

As well as enabling a good work/ life balance, with opportunities for flexible working and shorter shifts, you’ll work in a variety of settings with a wide variety of complex patients of all ages, building your clinical skills. For this reason, many of our colleagues say that working in the community means that no two days are the same.

You’ll also have time to spend with your patients and get a better sense of their social needs and lifestyle factors, so you can work holistically to help them achieve their goals.

Where will I work?

There are a huge variety of roles to choose from in our community physical health services, in a wide range of settings across Coventry. Many of our services are based in locations within the community such as smaller clinics and outreach centres. We deliver care in patient’s own homes for improved accessibility.

Our Urgent Community Response (UCR) service has widened opportunities for allied health professionals within our services, and we have recently recruited our first paramedics to CWPT. The service has also provided the opportunity for paramedics, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to expand the scope of their clinical practice.
