Wellbeing support

COPE

All staff have access to COPE; our in-house counselling service providing advice, information, short-term interventions and brief therapy from qualified staff.

Resources

We have a supportive Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy and a number of resources that can help staff and managers in the workplace, including:

  • a mental wellbeing toolkit to support positive discussions in the workplace
  • online self-help resources
  • guidance about how to access support and therapy services.

Vivup

Our Employee Assistance Programme, Vivup, has a 24-hour confidential helpline for support and guidance with anything that may be on your mind, work-related or not.

They can support with issues or problems such as anxiety, stress, bereavement, relationship advice, financial wellbeing, legal information, family issues, childcare support, medical information, tenancy and housing concerns, alcohol and drug issues, and consumer issues.

This service can also provide up to six sessions of structured telephone and online counselling support per year for employees, their partner, spouse or dependent children.

Wellbeing guides

We have colleagues in the Trust who are wellbeing guides and can signpost you to the right support network to best suit your needs.

Wellbeing days

Our Staff Engagement Team host wellbeing days at different locations across the Trust, with sessions on mindfulness, general health awareness and more.

Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team

The Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team exists to support staff as much as service users, carers and visitors. The team provide a confidential listening and support service for all staff and this can take place through formalised sessions such as referrals from Occupational Health, or through individual and informal meetings.

Recovery and Wellbeing Academy

The Recovery and Wellbeing Academy offers a wide range of free educational courses and workshops to anyone over the age of 18, living in Coventry and Warwickshire. The Academy provides the opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills to support your own mental health and wellbeing.

Staff networks

We have several staff networks who regularly meet across the Trust:

  • B.A.M.E network
  • Disability network
  • LGBTQIA+ network
  • Carers network
  • Dyslexia network
  • Women’s network.

We're always open to new ways to support our colleagues, and welcome staff members to submit requests to set up new networks.

Staff support groups

There are several staff support groups in the Trust, including menopause and breast cancer support groups. We'd also welcome more support groups depending on staff interest.

The Trust also has several staff who have been trained by CRUSE and can offer support around bereavement and loss, as well as TRiM trained (trauma risk management) who can support colleagues who have experienced a work event that may have been potentially traumatic.

Physical health

Occupational Health Service

Our Occupational Health Service provide advice, screening and health promotion on matters relating to health at work and at home to all staff. Staff can be referred via their manager, usually as part of sickness absence management or work performance issues.

Display screen equipment – re-imbursement for eye tests

We reimburse the cost of optician appointments for staff who regularly use display screen equipment. If you need any corrective equipment, we can help with that too.

Health cash plans

There are currently two health cash plan schemes available for staff to join. You can join either of these schemes and claim back money spent on everyday healthcare, such as treatment at the dentist or optician.

Discounted gym membership and Cycle to Work scheme

These are available as a salary sacrifice through our Employee Assistance Programme, Vivup.

Health passport

We will soon be introducing a health passport which gives those with a disability or a health condition which impacts their job, the opportunity to talk through their individual needs and any flexibility needed with their manager. Should you move into another role the passport goes with you so there is no need for repeat conversations, unless your needs change.

Carer's passport

Our carer's passport allows those with caring responsibilities to talk through their situation and the flexibility needed with their manager. Should you move into another role the passport will go with you so there is no need for repeat conversations, unless your needs change.
