Step by step recruitment guide

1. Complete your application

Once you have found a job that you’re interested in, select ‘apply’ and you will be directed to TRAC, our recruitment platform, to create an account and fill out your application. Please see our hints and tips for support with your application.

When the post is closed, we’ll shortlist everyone who applied against the advertised criteria.

2. Making the shortlist

If your skills and experience match those we’re looking for, you’ll be shortlisted and invited to come for an interview. If we feel you’re not suited to this role at this time, we’ll email you to let you know.

3. Invited to interview

You’ll receive an email invite to an interview; this will include a link for you to book a suitable time to attend.

4. Once you have booked your interview

Once you select a time, you will receive an email which will include details of the interviewers and any additional tests that form part of the selection process, as well as when and where to attend on the day.

If the interviews are being held virtually you will be provided with instructions to sign in. Depending on the role, you may be required to undertake other forms of assessment as part of the selection process. This may include presentations, in tray exercises, discussion groups or psychometric tests, for example.

5. Initial offer

If your interview is successful, we will contact you to offer you the role. If you accept, which we hope you do, we’ll start your pre-employment screening.

6. Pre-employment screening

We will ask you to send us some information so that we can complete you pre-employment screening. This may include asking to see evidence of your qualifications and/ or professional registration. You will also be invited to an ID check appointment with our Recruitment Team. This is in line with NHS Employer Standards and helps us to ensure all patients and staff are safe in our care.

7. Your unconditional offer

Once your pre-employment screening is completed and your checks have all been verified and cleared, the Recruitment Team will contact you to arrange a start date and book you onto our Corporate Induction. Your line manager will also be in touch to speak to you about arrangements for your first day.
