The Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has published its Mental Health and Learning Disability and Autism Inpatient Service Transformation Strategy, of which our CWPT inpatient services form a major part.

The document sets out the strategic intentions and aims for inpatient services over the next three years.  Inpatient services are a core part of the care, treatment, and support for people with mental illness, learning disabilities and autism.  They form part of a planned and integrated system approach to mental health, learning disability and neurodevelopmental care that is delivered in conjunction with community mental health, learning disability and neurodevelopmental services, social care, primary care, specialist healthcare teams, crisis and home treatment services and other urgent care services.

Partners from across the health and care system have worked together to develop the strategy, highlighting the vision for high quality, safe and effective mental health and learning disability inpatient services across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The strategy will support healthcare professionals to ensure that people are treated in a location which helps them to maintain contact with family, carers and friends, and to feel as familiar as possible with the local environment.
