It's okay to take a break on Stress Awareness Day

It’s okay to take a break!

If you’re stressed out, sometimes giving yourself five minutes to just breathe and relax is the best way to deal with something which is why we’re encouraging everyone to take a break this Stress Awareness Day.

Stress is unavoidable in life but if we don’t acknowledge it or have some coping strategies in place it can have a negative impact not only on our mental health but also our physical health and contributes to health problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.

Taking a break to figure out what is causing you stress, where you’re feeling that stress in your body, or to employ a coping strategy could make all the difference to you mentally and physically.

Everyone gets stressed out, but we all feel it and deal with it differently – there is no magic solution to help everyone. But you’re not alone, and Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust staff have shared how they feel when the stress is mounting, along with coping mechanisms, and resources they find helpful:
