Pharmacy Dispensing Service Christmas/New Year 2018/19

drugs

In order to ensure that service users continue to receive an efficient pharmacy  delivery service over the Christmas and New Year period please can all wards, units and service staff note the following arrangements.  By working together we can hopefully make the process as smooth as possible for everyone concerned.

Pharmacy Orders
Regular Stock Orders:
From Monday 17th December - orders should be increased (e.g. doubling up) to ensure that supplies last through the festive period.   The pharmacy will not routinely be able to process any stock orders in the 3 working days between Christmas and New Year.

Non Stock / Interim Stock Orders:
Lloyds will continue to process interim stock orders but these need to be with the pharmacy by Thursday 20th December with a 12pm* cut off.  *12pm cut-off times relate to Caludon Pharmacy to facilitate deliveries.

Short Term Leave / Discharge:
Requests need to be with the pharmacy by Thursday 20th December by 12pm*,  for guaranteed delivery before Christmas.  Lloyds will make every effort to ensure unplanned requests received after 20th December are still dispensed in time for Christmas but this may be difficult if there are too many late requests. Please help by planning ahead to avoid unplanned/emergency requests.
The pharmacy staff will do their utmost to ensure that all orders received will be completed on time however, delivery on orders received by the pharmacy on Christmas Eve cannot be guaranteed.

Closures
The pharmacy at the Caludon Centre and at St Michael’s Hospital will be closed on Tuesday 25th Dec, Wednesday 26th Dec & Tuesday 1st January.

Christmas Out of Hours arrangements
City Of Coventry H/C, Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry is the only branch that will be open on the 25th, 26th Dec & 1st Jan. It will be open from 9am-8pm. During these hours, you will need to fax the order ready for collection and take the original when you collect, or if delivered post the original order. The extended hours pharmacy may be able to arrange delivery but the ward will be charged for this.  Please note that delivery may not always be possible on the Bank Holidays (as they use a courier taxi service) and that you may have to arrange to collect medication in person at the pharmacy. Phone the pharmacy to discuss.
