The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) has reappointed Alan Dodds as NonExecutive Director at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT).

Alan is currently a Member of the Board of Trustees for Fair for You Ltd., a registered charity which provides financial solutions to poor families and communities, a position he has held from 2015. He is also a Webmaster for Worshipful Company of Marketors, an organisation of marketing professionals who are either Freemen or Liverymen of London, responsible for the development of their digital strategy and management of the company website, a position also held since 2015.

Alan has had prior experience in UK Financial Services, working in a variety of senior executive roles, including marketing, sales and operations. He started his banking career with TSB Bank PLC, where he has held posts such as Marketing Director for Commercial Banking and Head of Marketing for Mortgages and Insurance and, most recently, Contact Centre Director.

In 2004, he established his own company and during this period operated at senior executive level with Barclays Bank and Norwich Union Insurance. In January 2009, Alan joined CUNA Mutual Group, based in Birmingham, until his retirement as Chief Executive of UK business in December 2012.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Direct Marketing, and Business Leader with The Marketing Society.

Jagtar Singh, Chair of Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, has said: “It gives me great pleasure to confirm that Alan Dodds, our Vice Chair, has been reappointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board of CWPT. Alan is one of the hardest working Non-Executive Directors I have worked with.

“Alan brings a wealth of private sector experience and customer focus to our Board. As well as Vice Chair, he is Chair of our Financial, Planning and Investment Committee and is a champion of patient experience as he regularly attends the Trust Assembly and brings that voice to Board discussions. I am sure his Board colleagues, our staff, patients and other stakeholders will be very pleased that NHS Improvement has reappointed Alan for a further three years.”

Alan has said of his appointment: “I am pleased to have been reappointed to the Board of Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. I believe the essence of what we do is to “improve the wellbeing” of our patients and service users and I am looking forward to continuing to support the Board, our staff and volunteers in achieving this goal”.

The appointment was made by the NHS Improvement, responsible for appointing all chairs and nonexecutives to NHS trusts throughout England. All appointments are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments, and made following an open competition based on merit, in a way that is open, transparent and fair to all applicants.

Alan has been appointed from 1st May 2016 until 30th April 2019, and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £6,157 per annum. He has declared no political activity in the last 5 years.
