People aged 50 and over in Coventry and Warwickshire are now able to book their autumn booster and flu vaccines.

Online and phone bookings will open to people aged between 50 and 64 to book their COVID-19 jabs from today. Flu vaccinations can be booked through GP practices or by visiting a participating community pharmacy. Please call 119 if you need help.

In England, more than seven million people have already had their autumn booster in just over a month, with over 140,000 COVID-19 jabs booked at vaccination centres across Coventry and Warwickshire since the campaign launched a month ago.

NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board’s Partner Member for Primary care services and local GP, Dr Sukhi Dhesi said: “Thanks to the incredible work of all our staff, the COVID-19 vaccination programme across Coventry and Warwickshire is going from strength to strength and our system continues to be one of the top performing in England.

“We are asking everyone who is eligible for the COVID-19 booster and flu vaccination to book their appointments as we are approaching a very challenging winter for the NHS. Vaccinations are our strongest weapon against these viruses and so if you are between 50 and 64, log on and book your appointment.”

Adam Williams, Associate Director of Operations at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (Lead Provider for the vaccination programme) said: “Our clinics and roving teams have been incredibly busy delivering the life-saving autumn COVID-19 booster over the past month, and I’m delighted that this protection is now available to everyone aged 50 and over.

With COVID rates rising, we’re encouraging everyone who is eligible to book an appointment or head to one of the many drop-in clinics across Coventry and Warwickshire.”

Record numbers of sites are delivering autumn boosters since the campaign began a month ago while the flu jab is being offered at thousands of community pharmacies and GP surgeries across England.

Approximately 26 million people in England are eligible for an autumn COVID-19 booster with health leaders warning of a “twindemic” of the two illnesses this winter and urged people to come forward for their jabs.

Eligible people can book a COVID-19 booster appointment at www.nhs.uk/covid-booster or by calling 119.
