We’re opening our doors for the first time in 2023, at the City of Coventry Health Centre, to nurses looking to explore careers working with adults and children in our learning disability and autism, mental health, and community physical health services.

The drop-in event will take place from 10am – 3pm on Friday 10 February and is open to newly qualified nurses, nurses looking to take the next step in their career or return to practice following a break or retirement, and student nurses in their final year.

You’ll meet the teams behind our services, who deliver life-changing care to people across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull every day, and learn how you can join them and make a difference in a rewarding role with brilliant development opportunities.

We have a range of full time and part time roles available across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull, with opportunities for mental health nurses, learning disability nurses, general adult nurses and children’s nurses. Nurses from further afield are also invited to come and learn about the benefits of working in the area and a career within our Trust.

There will be lots of exciting opportunities available on the day, including roles in:

  • Learning Disability Children and Adolescent Services
  • Learning Disability Secure Services for Men and Women
  • Autism Low Secure Services for Men
  • Learning Disability Adult and Children’s Respite Services
  • Eating Disorders
  • Female and Male Acute Treatment Wards in Mental Health
  • Female and Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Older Adult Wards in Mental Health
  • RISE Specialist Mental Health Services for Children and Young People
  • Community Mental Health Teams
  • And much more…

There will be on-the-day interviews for those who are interested in applying for a vacancy, and successful candidates will walk away from the event with a job offer, pending pre-employment checks.

To be interviewed on the day please bring:

  • information you think could be relevant to your application, such as a CV or supporting information
  • photographic ID (such as a passport or driving license)
  • evidence of continued professional development (such as certificates)
  • proof of registration (if you’re already qualified)

At CWPT we put ‘people at our heart’; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others. We offer excellent rates of pay, NHS benefits, generous annual leave, and an extensive wellbeing package to support staff both in and out of work. Our 12-month preceptorship programme supports all newly qualified nurses and nurses who are new to an area of practice or speciality. With excellent training and development opportunities, we believe in growing our talent to be the best they can be and strive to promote from within the organisation.

We’re always on the lookout for people who share our passion for improving the lives and wellbeing of people in our community, as well as our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity and respect.

‘These events offer a brilliant opportunity to meet our future nursing workforce and showcase the exciting career and development opportunities we have at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. We offer something for nurses at all levels in a wide variety of specialist areas, whether you’re newly qualified, experienced, or looking to return to practice following a break or retirement. It is always heartening to see nurses leave our events with a job offer in hand, and a smile on their face, as they open the door to unlimited opportunities within the Trust.’
