Funding opportunities for suicide prevention

Coventry and Warwickshire Health and Care Partnership (HCP) Mental Health Programme is pleased to announce a new funding invitation to support a variety of projects aimed at preventing suicides in the region.

Projects being sought could be directly supporting people with mental health challenges or aiming to reduce significant risk factors amongst those with or without a mental health diagnosis.

Dr Dan Barnard, Lead Psychologist at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, said: “Many people in Coventry and Warwickshire have been struggling during the last few months in particular, with circumstances which can lead them to think there is no other way out than suicide.  These could include poor mental health, financial or employment worries, domestic abuse, isolation or bereavement.

“We would like to hear from local organisations which consider themselves to have contact with people who are at risk of suicide. This may include support for people who have been directly or indirectly impacted by Coronavirus.”

Kulwant Basi, Business Manager (Mental Health) at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, said: “Grants of up to £10,000 will be awarded to community, voluntary or charitable groups (VCSE organisations) working with people across Coventry and/or specific areas of Warwickshire."
