National Smile Month is coming to Coventry, as the Oral Health Promotion Team at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust hold special events across the city to support the UK’s biggest oral health campaign, which takes place between 18 May and 18 June 2015.

National Smile Month aims to promote and raise awareness of good oral health, and Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust is getting involved in doing just that.

People of all ages are invited to join the team at any one of their road show events and gain invaluable advice on taking care of their oral health, including advice and support on accessing dental services in Coventry.

Come along and chat to the team on:

Wednesday 20 May, between 10am and 2pm at the City of Coventry Health Centre
Wednesday 27 May, between 10am and 2pm at the City Library
Wednesday 3 June, between 10am and 2pm at Henley College
Thursday 11 June, between 10am and 2pm at City College

Barbara McKellar, Senior Oral Health Promotion Officer, said: “Each year, our dedicated team of oral health promotion specialists take the opportunity to organise a variety of community events to support the British Dental Health Foundation’s National Smile Month.

“The community events are an ideal opportunity to gain simple tips that will help to keep your teeth clean, healthy and pain free for all age groups. The team will also be able to provide advice and guidance on dental services available.”

Chief Executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter OBE, said: “I’m delighted that Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust has joined the thousands of organisations in engaging with National Smile Month. It is a great reflection of local community spirit and an excellent way to promote good oral health.

“By making an event as fun and imaginative as possible, we hope it will inspire more people to join in the fun than ever before while delivering the British Dental Health Foundation’s three key messages for good oral health; brush for two minutes twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks and visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.”
