Staff and volunteers at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) mark the one-year anniversary since the doors opened at Bedworth Civic Hall on 14 January 2021.

Bedworth Civic Hall was the first large vaccination centre to open across Coventry and Warwickshire last January. Since then, over 103,000 residents have been vaccinated from Bedworth Civic Hall and through care home and housebound teams from there. We have also provided vaccinations through pop ups for vulnerable groups around Coventry and North Warwickshire, for workplaces and pop ups at the Transport Museum and Godiva Festival. Nearly 2 million vaccinations in total delivered across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The milestone anniversary and huge achievement comes as the NHS continues its drive to get everyone eligible for a vaccination and booster vaccinated.

Anyone who is yet to receive a first or second dose or is due their booster vaccination is urged to come forward now. Bedworth Civic Hall is offering eligible children and adults the COVID-19 vaccination from the age of 12-years.

Liz Haines, Clinical Nurse Manager for CWPT’s Covid-19 vaccination programme, said: “It is a big milestone for us in two ways, the one-year anniversary since the doors opened at Bedworth Civic Hall and the vaccination of over 103,000 people from the services provided by the teams operating from the site. It is a huge achievement, and I am extremely honoured and proud to be part of the vaccination programme.

I would like to thank all the staff, our partners and volunteers for their hard work, dedication and always going the extra mile to vaccinate as many people as possible across Coventry and Warwickshire. In 12 months, we have seen the biggest vaccination programme in history, and everyone involved should be extremely proud of what we have achieved.

Our one goal is to offer everyone eligible the COVID-19 vaccination. We want to help keep people safe and well. I would like to encourage anyone who has not had their first or second doses or is due their booster to please come forward and book their appointment. COVID-19 is very much still here and can make unvaccinated people seriously unwell. If you have any questions about the vaccine, our staff on site will be able to answer your questions.”
