Dr Brian Kelly, from our Community Dental Service, recently received the Honorary Patron’s Cup at the British Orthodontic Society’s conference. He also received a trophy which he will hold for a year.
The honour is awarded annually to an individual whom the Honorary Patron of the Society considers to have provided the most outstanding service to the Society during their term of office.
This is the second award Dr Kelly has received from the British Orthodontic Society. In 2015 he was awarded the Distinction Award for his outstanding contribution to the specialty of orthodontics, and NHS orthodontics in particular.
There are nearly 2,000 members of the British Orthodontic Society, so to receive these two awards is a great achievement. Dr Kelly said he feels “incredibly privileged”.
The Community Dental Service is a specialised service providing dental treatment for children and adults registered with a Coventry GP who, because of a mental or behavioural impairment or disability, are unable to access general practice dental care. To find out more click here.
