Sophie Addie, Children’s Occupational Therapist with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, with some of her colleagues and friends, successfully completed the Wolf Run this month to raise money for the children's charity 'When you wish upon a Star'.

'When you wish upon a star' is a children's charity which grant wishes (big and small) to children aged 2-16 living with a life threatening illness.

The majority of the 13 strong team work in the Coventry Children's Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Service. They work with children and young people across the city who are living with difficulties or a disability that impacts on their ability to participate in activities of daily living. This work can take place in a variety of settings including nurseries, mainstream schools, special schools, patients’ homes and also in clinical settings.

Sophie, said: “It was a gruelling, wet and muddy 10km course, but we focussed on the children who would benefit from our fundraising.  They all deserve to have their wishes met and have a smile put on their brave faces. And you can see from the photographs that we did all actually have a great time.

“Our aim was £1000 and in total we have raised an overwhelming £1669.43 for the ‘When you wish upon a star’ charity.  We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for all their support and generosity over the last few weeks. We honestly couldn’t have done it without them, so thank you! Now for our next challenge.”

Liz Credgington, Regional Fund Raiser for ‘When you wish upon a Star’ charity, said: “It’s fantastic to have groups choosing to fund raise for us.  Without them we wouldn’t be able to grant as many wishes as we do for deserving children.  It’s great to see groups like this getting together with their friends and family and raising this amazing amount.  They should be really proud of themselves.”
