Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust awarded the National Preceptorship for Nursing Interim Quality Mark

National Preceptorship for Nursing Quality Mark 2024

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) has been awarded the National Preceptorship for Nursing Interim Quality Mark (IQM) by NHS England for its nursing preceptorship programme.

Preceptorship helps to welcome newly registered professionals into their careers and offers structured support to help implement their knowledge into everyday practice. The IQM recognises an organisation’s commitment to the provision of excellent preceptorship and implementation of the National Preceptorship Framework.

After a rigorous application process, CWPT’s preceptorship programme was reviewed by a panel of judges, made up of representatives from the regional nursing teams of NHS England, the regional preceptorship communities of practice, and an external assessor from the national preceptorship programme team.

Upon receiving the IQM award, the Trust was commended for its internal structures in place to drive preceptorship forward in practice, the bespoke nature of the preceptorship offer to meet the individual needs of the preceptees, and the caring and nurturing nature of its preceptorship programme.

Mary Mumvuri, Chief Nursing Officer/Deputy CEO for CWPT said: “At CWPT we value preceptorship and are committed to supporting staff during this transitional period. Our preceptorship programme has been designed to support the professional development of our new staff and promote multidisciplinary working. I’m incredibly proud of the offer we provide as a Trust and want to congratulate everyone involved for their work in obtaining this recognition.”

CWPT’s Preceptorship Facilitator said: “It is a privilege and honour to be awarded the National Preceptorship for Nursing Interim Quality Mark. We are extremely proud of this achievement and how it showcases the robust preceptorship programme we have at CWPT. We value and recognise the benefit of preceptorship and we are committed to continually improving and developing our preceptorship provision.’

Preceptorship is just one part of the excellent support CWPT offers to nurses within the organisation. For more information about learning and development, and to explore career opportunities, visit CWPT’s website.
