Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) is inviting nurses to a recruitment event to discover the exciting career opportunities on offer in the Trust’s inpatient mental health services.

The event will take place on Friday 28 April and is open to newly qualified nurses, nurses looking to take the next step in their career or return to practice following a break or retirement, and student nurses in their final year. Nurses with a professional background in mental health, learning disability or general nursing are welcome.

Nurses working in CWPT’s specialist inpatient services provide vital support to patients who have been admitted due to a mental health illness. They use their expertise and knowledge to help people who have been sectioned or are experiencing a mental health crisis, by providing compassionate, person-centred care in a safe and secure environment. Nurses attending the event will have the opportunity to join them.

The event will run in two parts, and nurses will be asked to choose from a morning or afternoon session when they register. Each session will open with a presentation, followed by opportunities to speak to current nurses and learn about the fantastic staff benefits, training and development on offer in the Trust. There will be on-the-day speed interviews for those who are interested in applying for a band 5 role.

There will be lots of exciting opportunities available on the day, including roles in:

  • Acute mental health admissions and treatment wards
  • Eating disorders
  • Older adult wards
  • Psychiatric intensive care wards
  • Rehabilitation services.

Nurses from further afield are also invited to come and learn about the benefits of working in the area and at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.

To be interviewed on the day please bring:

  • information you think could be relevant to your application, such as a CV or supporting information
  • photographic ID (such as a passport or driving license)
  • evidence of continued professional development (such as certificates)
  • proof of registration (if you’re already qualified).

There will be full time and part time roles available. In addition to excellent rates of pay, NHS benefits and exciting career development opportunities, the Trust offers a 12-month preceptorship programme to all newly qualified nurses and nurses who are new to an area of practice or speciality.

Mary Mumvuri, Chief Nursing Officer at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust said:

‘These events offer a brilliant opportunity to meet our future nursing workforce and showcase the exciting career and development opportunities we have at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. Our inpatient mental health services support patients when they are at their most vulnerable, and we look forward to welcoming nurses who have the passion and drive to make a difference as a part of our specialist teams. I began my career working in mental health inpatient settings and feel privileged to have been able to support patients’ recovery in such a rewarding role. I am excited for those who will be joining us to do the same.’
