Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust will be hosting its first annual celebration event on 12 May for Nurses and Midwives in Coventry and Warwickshire. The event, in celebration of International Nurses Day and the International Day of the Midwife, will consist of a procession through Coventry city centre leading into a ceremony at Coventry Cathedral.

Mandy Braimbridge, Assistant Director of Nursing for the Trust, said, “This event is providing a really exciting opportunity for all NHS nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants across Coventry and Warwickshire to come together and celebrate their chosen professional career, with a splendid back drop of Coventry Cathedral.”

In addition, nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants from George Elliot Hospital NHS Trust, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and student nurses and midwives from Coventry University will be attending the event.

Professor Mark Radford, Chief Nursing Officer at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, said: “Being part of International Nurses’ Day celebrations with our colleagues from neighbouring Trust is so important. These events are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the achievements and say thank you to every nurse, midwife and healthcare assistant.”

Mandy Braimbridge, continued: “Hopefully this will become a regular annual event which will grow bigger and better each year.”

The event is being financially supported by both Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust and Coventry University.
