Are you feeling stressed, anxious or depressed, or perhaps suffering from panic attacks and wish to talk to someone about your concerns, but don’t know where to go? There’s no need to struggle on alone, support is at hand from your free local NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapy Service (IAPT).

A caring team from Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust will be spreading the word on the service they offer with a drop in ‘Come and Chat’ stall on Tuesday 14 April, 10am – 4pm, at Sainsbury’s, 24 - 25 Trinity Street, Coventry, CV1 1FL. Visit the stall for information to take away, or speak to a member of the team about your concerns.

Carol Peckham, IAPT lead for Coventry and Warwickshire said: “Mental health issues are common. Around one in four people suffer from a mental health problem sometime in their lifetime. Everyday life experiences, or life changing events such as the loss of a loved one, losing a job, financial difficulties or moving house, can lead to feelings that can be hard to cope with alone. The problem is knowing where to get help.”

Katie McLean, Team Manager for the Coventry IAPT service added: “It’s very easy to access our service and we can talk with you promptly to identify the best type of support with your problems.”

The service is available to anyone over the age of 16 years who is registered with a GP in Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.  You can call the team direct for an initial discussion and find out more about the many NHS interventions and support that are available to meet your own individual needs.

IAPT services are free and simple to access, you can ask your GP to refer you or call the team directly on 024 7667 1090 to book your initial appointment and take that first step into your new life.

The lines are open Monday to Friday 9am – 4.30pm, excluding Bank Holidays. If you need more urgent support outside of these hours you can call the Mental Health Matters helpline on 0800 616171 from a landline, or 0300 330 5487 from a mobile phone.
