Phil Noyes

Phil-Noyes I work as staff side chair (union coordinator) and am a nurse (RNLD and RMN) though for the past 6 years this has only been in annual practice placements. I managed a respite care unit and day service in LD services for several years, and have a strong interest in the view of the Trust and the NHS in general held by carers and service users. Through my staff side role I have seen a wide variety of services and have just completed a really interesting placement in Coventry Community Services Pathway which has opened my eyes to that part of the Trust.

I see the staff governor role as one to which I can bring my knowledge of the ways in which staff contribute to the important work of the organisation whether they be clinical or non-clinical, band 1 or band 9, and I am keen to be a part of this new development for our Trust. I do not see this as an extension of my staff side role, as the distinct opportunity is to work with others to influence what kind of organisation we become. I hope that the start being made by the Equal Active Partners initiative is maintained to the point that both staff and senior management feel there is a real commitment to engage with each other. If elected I will work hard to meet the demands of the role and to be available to staff who contact me.
