Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team
The Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care team exists to support staff as much as service users, carers and visitors. The team provide a confidential listening and support service for all staff and this can take place through formalised sessions such as referrals from Occupational Health, or through individual and informal meetings.

Display screen equipment - re-imbursement for eye tests
The cost of the eyesight test will be reimbursed for regular DSE users. If the optician confirms the need for special corrective appliances, a contribution will be made towards these. Please see the Display Screen Equipment Policy for more information.
Employee of the Season Award
We encourage teams to nominate individuals or teams in recognition of any outstanding work which shows how they have lived and applied our Trust values. These are all viewed quarterly by the Chair and staff side and Director of Strategy and Business Development. The winner is announced and a presentation made to the individual or team.
Equality and Diversity
Whilst ensuring that staff are advised and supported on the wider equality agenda through training, the Equality and Diversity team support staff who may have experienced harassment, bullying or verbal abuse because of their religion or belief, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. Support is also available to users and carers from minority groups to support them through their healthcare journey.
Flexible Working Options
Staff have the option to request flexible working where possible, to fit working hours around family life and responsibilities outside work to create a good quality work life balance.
Health Cash Plans
There are currently two schemes available for staff to join. You can join either of these schemes and claim back money spent on everyday healthcare, such as treatment at the dentist or optician.

Learning and Development
Staff can access a wide range of learning, development and education opportunities, including National Qualifications, Apprenticeship Frameworks, Maths & English, Leadership & Management Development, Skills for Work and Post Graduate Education. Annual Q Awards. Each year we celebrate our exceptional staff by presenting them with an award at our Q Awards ceremony.
Library and Information Services
Staff have access to a library and IT services at The Caludon Centre.
Long Service Awards
Staff completing 20, 30, 40, or 50 years’ service can apply for a long service award recognition. All eligible staff are invited to a celebration evening to receive their Long Service Award voucher and certificate.
Managing your mental wellbeing
We have a supportive Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy and a number of resources that can help staff and managers in the workplace, including:
- A mental wellbeing toolkit to support positive discussions in the workplace
- Online self-help resources
- Guidance about how to access support and therapy services including our dedicated counselling service for staff, COPE
Occupational Health Service
The Occupational Health Service provides a comprehensive high quality service to all staff. Providing advice, screening and health promotion on matters relating to health at work and at home, whilst reflecting the Trust’s vision and core values and embracing the Trust’s Nursing and Human Resources strategies. Staff can be referred via their manager, usually as part of sickness absence management or work performance issues.
Personal Development Review
Staff personal development review provides a clear development pathway and career framework to enable all our staff to achieve their full potential.
In addition to the Awards outlined above, we also offer staff recognition awards to capture and celebrate any further work-related education or training obtained by staff.
