The department of clinical psychology has the following members of staff:

Dr Helen Love, Clinical Psychologist Renal and Cardiac Rehabilitation

Mrs Laura Onens, Assistant Psychologist, Haematology
Dr Emma Nicholas, Clinical Psychologist, Neuropsychology

 

Clinical Services

Our Clinical Psychology service covers specific clinical areas within the University Hospital Coventry. We offer specialist input to the following areas:

  • Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Haematology
  • Neuropsychology & Stroke
  • Renal


In addition, there are counselling services provided by the hospital in: Oncology, Fertility, & Surgery.

 

Cardiac rehabilitation service

Dr Helen Love provides patient education, psychological assessment and intervention, to patients engaged in the UHCW or Hospital of St Cross Cardiac Rehabilitation programme. She also provides advice, training, consultation and supervision to the cardiac rehab staff.

 

Haematology

Dr Tamily Duggan and Mrs Laura Onens provide psychological assessment and intervention to patients with problems linked to haematological disorders. They also provide advice, training, consultation and supervision to the staff team.

 

Neuropsychology Neurosciences, Neurorehab & Stroke

Dr Louise Price, Dr Dons Coleston-Shields, Dr Angela Martin and Dr Emma Nicholas work with major trauma inpatients and outpatients, inpatients on Wards 42 and 43, neuro rehab outpatients on ward 42 in the Rehab Day Unit at the Wisdem Centrem, and neuropsychology outpatients. They also provide advice, consultation, training and supervision to the neurosurgery and neurosciences team.

 

Renal

Dr Helen Love provides patient education, psychological assessment and intervention, to renal patients across Coventry and Warwickshire, including those patients that attend UHCW, George Eliot Hospital, and Stratford and Leamington dialysis units. She also provides advice, training, consultation and supervision to the renal staff team.
