Excellent levels achieved in a national award

Sheila Franks from the Staff Engagement Team receiving the Charter

Our Trust has been reaccredited under The Workplace Wellbeing Charter, a National Award for England.

We improved our rating in three categories and achieved excellent level awards in Leadership; Absence Management; Health and Safety; and Smoking and Tobacco. In the remaining four categories we achieved commitment level, which included Mental Health; Physical Health; Healthy Eating; and Alcohol and Substance Misuse.

It was a great improvement for our Trust as we only achieved excellent in one category two years ago.

We were commended on our communications to staff; on our comprehensive policies towards the wellbeing agenda; and on the various awards which receive a high profile and commitment throughout the year.

Shajeda Ahmed, Associate Director of Workforce and Organisational Development, said: “We are absolutely delighted by the reaccreditation of the Workplace Wellbeing Charter which forms part of our Trust’s staff engagement approach in support of the health and wellbeing agenda for our services. We are also especially pleased with having achieved an excellence rating for our leadership for two successive years which demonstrates our commitment to making our Trust a great place for our patients and staff.”

The next accreditation will take place in two years’ time when we will be focusing on drawing on our performance to bring the other four standards up to an “excellent” level.
