Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust has started this year’s recruitment campaign to swell its Foundation Trust membership numbers by almost 1,000 new recruits.

Over the coming weeks and months the Trust is targeting specific age groups with a key focus on 16-21 years and retired men from across Coventry and Warwickshire.

A large number of recruitment events have been set up in many locations across the region, in order to engage with theses audiences, seeking their support of local NHS services by asking them to sign up and become involved with the Trust.

This recruitment teams, dressed in distinctive shirts, have been handing out membership forms and answering queries from the public. In support of these events, Public Governors from the Trust will be on hand to help the recruitment teams wherever possible, highlighting the importance of supporting local NHS services.

New members signing up on the day from Henley College Student Council commented: “We’re happy to support the Partnership Trust in any way we can. Becoming a Foundation Trust member seems a real opportunity for us and other students to keep in touch with all that’s happening. We agree that is important to everyone who’s interested in local NHS services.”

Ian Yates, membership manager from the Trust, said: “A strong and engaged membership base is vital to the success of the Trust, and its application to become a NHS Foundation Trust. Some 10,000 members of the public have signed up since our launch to become a Foundation Trust – but we’d like more.”

“We have identified the need to attract the support of more young adults and, of course, our slightly older retired men folk from across the region to engage with the Trust and show their support.”

“As a provider of Primary Care services in Coventry, and Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull, we need to encourage young adults especially, to become more aware of the issues people who use our services sometimes face. “Creating the opportunities to educate and inform, helps break down barriers and the stigma often attached to the services we provide our patients.”

By becoming NHS Foundation Trust members, people will receive all the latest news about the Trust, as well as notification of local health events. They will be offered opportunities to get involved by taking part in consultations, surveys or volunteering. Membership is free, and open to anyone aged over 14 who live in the Coventry Warwickshire, and even the Rest of England.

The recruitment drive will continue for the next few months in town centres, at supermarkets, GP surgeries and at schools and colleges, so please keep a look out for the recruitment teams near you and sign up.

If you don’t meet the recruitment team, don’t worry, as there are lots of ways to sign up and have your say.
