A daughter records single and dedicates it to the Specialist Palliative Care Service in Coventry
Angie Jones, whose mother Jan was diagnosed with terminal cancer, has recorded a charity single to raise funds for the Specialist Care Team who cared for Jan at her home in Coventry.
The aim is to raise a minimum of £2,000 - enough funds for the Trust’s Charity to purchase a specialist syringe driver.
Angie and her family wanted to support the Specialist Care Team due to the care, dignity and compassion that Jan and her family received during this difficult time. Angie has been singing most of her life, so it seemed only natural that she would record a song dedicated to her mother’s memory to raise funds to support the Care Team.
Angie explained: “We have finally found the best way to raise funds using the song I recorded for Mum. This way all the money goes to our Syringe Driver account.”
Angie went on to say: “As a family we really cannot thank enough the team involved with my Mum’s care, we gained so much strength from those involved, we could not have asked for more, just so supportive to the family.
"The time we had with Mum in her final days with us are special memories, and we are very thankful for that. It was only natural that we wanted to support the service and the Charity by helping raise the money needed to purchase this syringe driver.”
The family, alongside members of the Palliative Care Team will be seeking support from the public at the ‘Let’s Ride’ event sponsored by HSBC in Broadgate, Coventry on the 8 September.
Angie, along with some of the staff from the Palliative Care Team, will be performing her single ‘Songbird’ live, raising funds, and singing the praises of the Care Team.
