Colin Tysall

colin-tysall I am an ex-Service User of the previous incarnation of the Partnership Trust.

I have been involved in the Service User movement for fifteen years of which Coventry LINk soon to become HealthWatch is the latest version.

I’m a trustee of Coventry AIMHS which helps us to ensure users and carers voices are heard by the commissioners and providers of our Mental Health and Social Care services by running Forums in the Caludon, St Michael’s hospital, Willow View and in the community.

As an Associate Mental Health Act Manager I’m part of a team of Lay people who ensure that people who have been subject to the sections of the Mental Health Act 1983 revised 2007 get the best care and services available.

I am a Governor of a local Church of England primary school and have been a travel buddy to help children and adults with learning difficulties stay safe on the road and independent by using public transport.

I belong to UNTRAP a user and carer organization across Coventry & Warwick universities helping to shape the future doctors, social workers and clinical psychologists.

I am treasurer of my church.

I have experienced what it was like to have to use sticks or wheelchairs to get around so am quite sensitive to the needs of disabled people.

In the past I have run Depression Alliance self-help groups and a Mental Health self-management group in Warwickshire and still help with a Bipolar Group for Coventry and Warwickshire.
